Film Review | Think Like A Man

By  |

Before watching this film I heard a lot about it. The way it was being promoted online and on American television made it sound like a really good film that was a must watch. So that’s what I did exactly, and here are my thoughts…

The Story

I was quite eager to watch this film not only because of the buzz that surrounded it before it’s release, but also because of the storyline.

Four friends conspire to turn the tables on their women when they discover the ladies have been using Steve Harvey’s relationship advice against them.

The cast also added to my excitement with big names such as: Meagan Good, Gabrielle Union, Taraji P Henson and Kevin Hart. Not to mention the major eye candy like Chris Brown, Terrance J and Michael Ealy… Heaven!

Best Bits

Every scene with Kevin Hart and when Michael-Ealy and his love interest Taraji.P Henson FINALLY get together.

Final Thoughts

To be honest, the film was okay but nothing more than that. Certain bits were very funny – most of the humour coming from comedian Kevin Hart but overall I would say it was mediocre.

Personally, I like films that stimulate my mind and this film did to a certain extent – it made me realise how differently men and women view relationships and dating. However, that’s all it managed to get me thinking and for most of the film I was left a rather bored simply because of the fact that it was very predictable and 40 minutes into the movie, I knew how each of the characters relationships would turn out. It was a rather predictable rom-com (romantic-comedy) and nothing special in comparison to the thousands of romantic comedies out there.

With that being said, it wasn’t a bad film and I did enjoy it. If you don’t mind the clichéd storyline, then definitely go and watch the movie – you’ll enjoy it. If not, I’d say wait until it comes out on DVD or TV and save a few pounds. Watch the trailer for the film below.

Rating: 5.7/10
