This Man Cheated The System & Flew First Class Around The World For £200!
What an absolute legend!
Sam Huang flew around the world in Emirates first class for just £200 ($300), yes you read right… £200. And how did he do it you ask? By beating the system of course!

The Emirates first class cabin (or suite as they like to call it) is lined with gold leaf, comes with a spa, and has an automated minibar. “It literally screams money,” writes Sam Huang, gleefully.
We say gleefully because he managed to enjoy all that first class had to offer on an epic flight from Singapore to New York and back. And for the round-the-world trip that would usually cost around $60,000 (£40,000), he paid a princely sum of $300 (£200). Yes, we sort of hate him a little bit right now too.
But, Sam definitely had to work for his cheap-as-chips trip, as he outlines in a detailed blog post.
“It turns out Emirates has a few airline partners, one of which is Alaska airlines. Besides being able to take connecting flights, you can actually use Alaska miles to redeem a first class ticket on Emirates,” Sam explains.
Alaska Airlines is partnered with Bank of America & Starwood Rewards. So, Sam signed up for multiple credit cards, reaching a minimum spend on each card, and eventually earning 200,000 Alaska miles within a year. Without taking a single flight.
Like we said, this isn’t for the faint-hearted, and, as Sam himself advises: “If you can’t pay off your bills fully every month, please don’t do this game”. Sam then took advantage of Alaska’s lack of restrictions on routing, which allowed multiple stop-overs to be added on one flight. Sadly, this loophole is now closed but Sam says similar ones still exist.
But enough of the detail – if you do want to find out more, head to Sam’s TopMiles website, which helps others book flights with air miles. Because check out Sam’s first class experience.
