Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream | Beauty Review
So I’ve been meaning to do a review on this cream forever! But just hadn’t got around to it. I first started using this cream in July 2016 after picking up a “Kheil’s To Go” set at an airport which had a few products inside and one of them was of course the Ultra Facial Cream.
What does it do?
According to Kheil’s….
“A 24-hour daily facial cream, continuously replenishing moisture throughout the day, Ultra Facial Cream leaves skin feeling smooth, soft and hydrated. With a lightweight texture and easily absorbed formula, this facial cream is perfect for daily use. Ultra Facial Cream is specially formulated with moisturising Squalane and water retaining Imperata Cylindrica to protect the skin throughout harsh weather conditions. These ingredients help your skin to stay hydrated for longer”.
Does it actually work?
Since I started using this moisturiser in summer 2016 I have been using it ever since. I have tried other moisturisers in between but I always end up coming back to Kiehl’s in the end.
I have combination skin on my face, so oily in the t-zone area (nose, centre of forehead) but mainly dry everywhere else. This moisturiser is definitely for those with dry-combination skin and really lives a light dewy feel to the skin – you definitely feel moisturised after using it.
If you have oily skin they do have a gel alternative however which I’ve put an image of below, or you could try the lotion version instead of the cream which I’m told is a lot lighter in consistency but the same formula.
They also do a handy version with sunscreen in it, SPF 30 which I also use so I definitely recommend that one also as no matter your skin type or colour, we all need sunscreen to protect our skin from wrinkles, ageing and discolouration from those pesky UV rays.
One thing I would say though is that if you do have really sensitive skin or suffer with skin conditions such as eczema then I don’t think this cream is for you. I put the cream on once after doing some intense exfoliation, so my skin was really sensitive, and after putting the cream on I did get a bad stinging sensation. So yeah if you have sensitive skin it’s definitely not for you but there is another perfect moisturiser for the most sensitive of skin types, which I’ll be doing a review on soon!
- Not crazily expensive (£45.00 for 125ml large jar)
- Comes in a range for different skin types (oil free cream, lotion etc)
- Simple and easy to use
- A little goes a long way
- Lasts for ages, both the small and large sizes
- Easy to find a Kheil’s stockists worldwide – they’re everywhere
- Can be slightly for a moisturiser depending on your budget.
- May not be suitable for very sensitive skin types (may sting on problem areas)
